SEO Poker Tournament at Pubcon Change of Start Time
Microsoft announced their Pubcon party will be on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00. As this will conflict with the starting time of the Poker Tournament I called my contact at the Venitian Poker room and they were gracious enough to change the starting time of the tournament. There are enough Pubcon Parties this time to kill you!
Official Notice
The Purposeinc 2007 SEO Poker Tournament
will now take place on
Thursday Dec 6th at 9:00 P.M.
(Please check in around 8:30 P.M.)
It should be the best Pubcon party there is!
Reminder, please go to the Venetian Hotel site and sign up for a Players Club membership which I believe is free before the night of the tournament.
Note: Dec. 2, 07 It is funny that one of the main reasons I set this party up was that last year there was the Microsoft Pubcon Party, (which I was not invited to), the Yahoo Pubcon Party, (which I was also not invited to), and the Google Party (which was in the conference and was for everyone. Since I did not get invited to these parties, and I knew that many others did not either, I figured it would be cool to throw the everyman’s party at Pubcon 2007.
It turns out though that other great minds have gotten the same idea. The usual three, Google, Yahoo, and MSN are all throwing them, and Rand Fiskin is throwing the party of all parities with the Werefolf Contest (not by the way Wherewolf as I initially thought it was). There is also going to be a golf tournament, which I was told was closed, but don’t quote me on that or count on it! Also I have heard of a dinner get together, free show tickets given out by Joe Morin, and rumors of other events taking place.
Thanks to all who are organizing, as this I am sure will be the Pubcon to remember. I just wonder if anyone is going to make it to the sessions, or if they will all still be sleeping in.
I will see you at the tables!

A great minds think alike and, apparently, like to party too 🙂
ReplyOnly cool kids or kids with money get invited by Microsoft or Yahoo (to anything). You miss out on some of the best people that way.
And conference sessions are great for closing your eyes and letting auditory learning take over, haha.
ReplyThat’s funny that Google, Yahoo, and MSN are all jumping on the bandwagon with the parties. Everything sounds fun except the golf. Not a fan.
Replythis tells me, there is purpose behind these parties, not just drinking either. Important to get people together in comfort places. Attitudes, perceptions, and ideas flow a little different and can make for even more exciting ideas when the stuffy office walls are not there.
